  • For the purposes of tax advice and compliance work, yes you will need an accountant. If you’ve already got one, we can work smoothly with them. If not, Positive Balance is happy to refer you to someone trusted who’s a good fit for your business.

  • This is likely to be the absolute minimum starting price for the smallest of sole traders with accounts outsourced outside the UK. Positive Balance pricing reflects the quality of the expertise, experience and accessibility you’ll benefit from. Something our clients value highly.

About Positive Balance FAQs

  • It’s your very own, outsourced finance department, with exactly the same level of service you’d expect from your own finance team, but more affordable.

  • First, we’ll have a discovery call to find out what’s needed. If we’re a good fit, there’s a proposal for you to sign, then I’ll guide you through the onboarding process and we’ll get started, staying flexible to your needs.

  • Packages are bespoke and priced according to the complexity and volume of work. Simply get in touch for a no-obligation (and no pressure at all) proposal. As a guide, prices for an entry-level service start at £295 per month plus VAT. Payment is taken monthly in advance by GoCardless.

  • Not at all. It’s a rolling one-month contract for your flexibility, so all that’s needed is 30 days’ notice to cancel.

  • Positive Balance is based in Edinburgh but, thanks to cloud-based software and clever apps, we can work with any UK based small business. If you’re not a fan of video calls and prefer face to face meetings it would be ideal if you were located within an hour’s drive of Edinburgh.
